this is why I have never been too hard on the fact that America started getting nervous about how recent German peoples were going to behave in WW2.

Having allegiance to a country is a very serious thing, and when everyone was bullshiting with the "muh end of history globalism" we ignored this, but it's going to come back pretty quick
