@KingOfWhiteAmerica Can you list / link me the list of reading material from a while back concerning an introduction to Orthodoxy? I lost my tabs.

Consider from a lifelong Protestant philosopher who struggles with following leadership when he strongly feels they are Scripturally incorrect.

Thank you, if you have a moment.

@RoninGrey @N_Y_SparkyOxCable Looks like you gents had everything under control; I’m here if you need me 😂

@KingOfWhiteAmerica Thanks, brother. I have all three of those books arriving tomorrow (I found a 2nd Edition printing of "The Faith"). I'll read them in the recommended order.

I'll have an opportunity to visit different churches next month for about 3 weeks. Some YouTube videos I saw recommend calling an Orthodox church ahead of time before showing up (probably so they can make me aware that I can't take communion, and other notices?)

Do you recommend the same? And why?

@RoninGrey Nice; the Second Edition is still pretty decent, and should work nicely.

@RoninGrey Should reiterate the caveat; Bp. Kallistos Ware is (was?) a top-notch scholar, but the real Orthodox Orthodoxy comes through the Saints, in their Lives.

I mention this because it’s easy to assume so scholarly a Bishop should be a reliable, authoritative source; but it doesn’t always pan out that way.
