I'm still trying to figure out how to build a media center with OpenMediaVault because hoarding all my documents, movies, family photos, memes, games, ROMs, codes, etc. require space and I want to centralize access to them on my network.

I understand the appeal of collecting physical copies. As far as they're concerned, those are artifacts of a bygone era and they're worth preserving in the face of time. Pretty much like a museum: people want the real thing. Not a 4K uncompressed picture of the Mona Lisa or a 3D scan of sculpted busts of Roman emperors.
