@thefinn @charliebrownau There are way too few cases of good kings in History, compared to the total amount. It's not easy to allow a peaceful transfer of power outside of the King's family, and Righteousness is not a taught trait, let alone inheritable.
Universal suffrage is still a fucking mistake, but I don't see Monarchy as an upgrade or even side-grade.

Modern society gave all women a gun to shoot their partner with, and that comes with no strings attached. @thefinn It's much easier to just get the graces of your wife's father. Having to please the woman constantly over the duration of marriage is an endless endeavor that'll eventually end in divorce and the loss of your property and identity if kids are involved.
