That's because you are getting the Starbucks one and they put sweeteners in it. You can just mix coffee with milk, nothing bad happens. You can make cold brew by brewing coffee cold.

No you don’t need that fancy kettle and yes a dripper is dirt cheap. The dripper fits straight on a pint glass just fine.

@Leyonhjelm @f0x @rees Man, there was this Japanese place in Little Tokyo that had row after row of alchemical equipment that they'd use to make extreme slow-drip cold-brew and every time I went there I was like "Large latte" instead of being distressed that they were out of their slow-drip cold-brew and the terrible hipster behind the register would make a face at me because what you were *supposed* to do at that place was try to order the cold-brew first and then they could tell you they were out of it for the day.
