Therapists can't treat autism.

That is like going to a car mechanic and telling them you want them to build a house for you.

@Communist_Single_Mom @WashedOutGundamPilot The "treatment" for autism is learning how to be more aware of social cues and how to interact with others better. That is indeed not a therapy thing, but just a series of everyday trials you have to overcome until you learn how to not be so spergy.

I know this from my own life (probably) having Asperger's. And even if you are not an actual autist, if you have the same struggles, the remedy is the same. So an official diagnosis is just a formality.

@houseoftolstoy @Communist_Single_Mom I try to explain it ss ‘f you have the mental horsepower, you can just run a “virtual machine” of how other people are thinking and feeling when you interact with them’. Once they start to ‘get’ people like they do other things, they get a lot better with dealing socially
