guys I'm starting to think personal computers will be phased out by making them a sheer impossibility. and it makes sense from their view, pcs give people too much freedom to evade, seek, or build alternatives

@irie so... time to start hoarding before everyone else does?

@irie it's just SATA SSDs though, and just from Samsung, so I don't suspect it'll be THAT bad. NVMEs are about the same price, they're a lot better, and support for them is also really ramping up. I suspect this will only really affect older computers, whereas the RAM issue affects newer ones too.

@beardalaxy hard to say to what extent it will affect the market, not a good reason to completely wave away the warning of the insider

@irie PCs are going to become a niche product only used by enthusiasts or people who need them for very specific types of work. Most people don't need anything more than email/word processing/spreadsheets. You don't need a PC for that. People will end up using phones or tablets for everything. Some people will dock their phone to use a keyboard/mouse/monitor.
@irie i just got 2t from Samsung last month and ram early this year, dodged a wallet raping
