They are Police, for the Military. Would you shoot a cop committing even an illegal act that endangered your own life?
These MPs are given license to use force, during time of war. It does not explicitly say that in the UCMJ but I can assure you, this is something we come to understand and talk about. Especially on deployment.

I had to look up what MOS you were referring to. I was USAF. We didn't have infantry. There are some special forces units that are closer to that line of work.

What's most amusing is that just prior to that, your claim was that I would never shoulder a rifle for the country because I thought that kid looked a bit young to be sent to war. Infantry are armed and literally the front line so which is it?
