Like a young plant or a root that sprouts in dry ground, the servant grew up obeying the LORD. He wasn't some handsome king. Nothing about the way he looked made him attractive to us.

I've always read it as though Jesus just looked like everyone else, as in there wasn't any telltale sign that He was the Christ just based on His physical appearance alone. He just looked like a normal guy. Doesn't necessarily mean He was ugly.

What if Isaiah was saying to women who hear his message that when you reject 80% of men without a criminal record but go for violent drug dealing lazy men with a criminal record it is like you are rejecting Jesus & crucifying him all over again trampling his blood underfoot treating it as a unholy thing & treating his grace with contempt until there is no forgiveness for you because you rejected the free gift of a forgiving man & choose a jerk instead
