Trump opened up Pandora's box. The mainstream conservative position was explicitly post racial before him. Hell, I honestly believed racism would be "over" 20 years ago (before Obama and BLM). He may have been business as usual in many areas, but you can't put the genie back in the bottle. Appealing to America's White population was forbidden, and still is taboo even if that's eroding. I seldom hear my conservative friends being up "Democrats are the real racists" anymore— do you guys?

Unfortunately some of the evangelical types will go into Bible posting a la good Samaritan, but that's its own issue. I have Evangelical friends who have came around, even a Dispensationalist who no longer supports the state of Israel but hopes the jews accept Christ.

The "dems are the real racists didja kno they were founded as the...." ones are the guys who tell you they "know plenty of wonderful black people" but if you break it down it's basically:

- the one black family in their subdivision who beat the odds to get a $300k/yr career (their teenagers will revert to the negroid mean)

- Black cashier at his favorite barbecue place (fishing for tips)

- Black friend in high school (when black culture hadn't been rendered utterly sacred by media)

@WashedOutGundamPilot @SuperSnekFriend Pretty much. I know several good dudes who are Black, but I'm not foolish enough to think that every random one will be just like them. If you're insulated enough, you just see the random stories and cultural events as anomalies rather than the real state of things.
