I decided to make a new Facebook account to try and get in touch with some foreign friends that I really don't want to lose contact with.
This is new.
I'm guessing this is Facebook's way of gearing up for the new Australian social media laws.

The Australian government wants to have facial ID mandated as age verification for all social media.
The laws already passed months ago but they don't go into effect until December.
At which point it becomes illegal for 16 year olds and under to use anything considered social media. Even YouTube.
Whole point is to force people to accept the #digitalid
I'm sure the age restriction for social media will end up getting lifted, months after going into effect, once a large enough number of people get logged out of all their social media and get a pop up telling them to sign up for digital id, and they will because it'll be soooooo convenient.

so I've been reading Labour Together's think tank paper on BritCard proposal labourtogether.uk/all-reports/ - which according to Sunday Times already got the support from ministers. and considering LT is the closest think tank to gov't, I think it's fair to assume at least some of its proposals, if not all, will be pushed through

buckle up, a 🧵 incoming!

The #DigitalID surveillance stack will be implemented on right-wing narratives (protect the children, track the illegal immigrants, ect.) so the left-wing politics can take full advantage of it.

BlueSky will be mandatory in the UK tied with #digitalID
BlueSky moderating will be able to fine your yougov wallet (which you will need as your did), if you continue to post stuff which gets you told off on BlueSky, they'll send you to prison. JudgeDID.

I'm predicting it now. Lolol.

There's one thing about Donald Trump's endorsement of stablecoins that I find ominous:

So if the U.S were to establish a stablecoin as its currency, it would be able to easily freeze funds of any country that gets into a disagreement with him. The company behind Tether itself has already done this.[1][2]. Trump has discussed keeping the dollar's dominance [3], and I think with the new power over U.S currency, he can establish a de facto one-world currency.

There's also another aspect I'm thinking of, and that's where cash may become obsolete as a payment method. Under the current fiat system, with all the flaws it has, at least you can spend it with no traceability with cash. There will be no payment privacy with a Tether-like currency unless it's done using something like Monero or Grin. This is the same reason I think the EU is looking into the digital euro.[4]

I wouldn't be surprised if the U.S imposed limits on the amount of cash you have similar to the law limiting the amount of cash you can take out of the country without having to declare it at Customs.

What do you think?
