No encuentro ningún banco (en Argentina) que permita operar por home banking sin el requisito de descargar una app desde Google Play o Apple Store.

Estaba a punto de instalarme LineageOS pero si el precio por des-googlearme es tener que ir al cajero automático para hacer las transferencias... no sé si estoy dispuesto a pagarlo.

Por si alguien no lo sabe todavía, /e/OS (@e_mydata@mastodon.social ) ha metido #OpenAI (en VoiceToText) a partir de la versión 3.0 por sus... sin aviso ni consulta previa. Respuestas vagas, cierre de hilos "molestos" y su "líder" haciéndose la víctima, para variar (quien quiera contexto, pongo enlaces en respuesta a esta nota).

Personalmente es algo que ni siquiera uso, pero las formas en que lo han hecho, sumadas a los precedentes flirteos con código que contradice su propio eslogan, para mí es motivo más que suficiente para dejarlos atrás.

Probablemente lo más sensato sería volver directamente a #LineageOS pero mientras hago copias de seguridad para el matarile estaría bien saber de experiencias con #iodéOS u otras alternativas y ver si merecen la pena darles un tiento.

I have recently come to realize that because I have an old refurbished (but sleek and quite nice since it runs #LineageOS) #Samsung #GalaxyTab, "I don't have a #Kindle" isn't a proper excuse to not be reading books anymore

Did **anyone** using a #Xiaomi device running MIUI (not HyperOS) *recently* successfully unlock their bootloader? Trying to figure out if this is a region thing, or the MIUI version (12) is simply too ancient.

It appears my Android can do 4G mobile data, but not VoLTE calling. So ... is that a software support limitation? Could installing LineageOS make it VoLTE capable? There seems to have a LineageOS build for it;

Har nokon av dykk eit godt svar på korleis ein sølle amatør skal kunna bruke til dømes Vips (ja, eg nektar å skrive det med to p-ar) på ein avgoogla telefon? You don't use any native clients on mobile? I use #Husky on #Android and #LineageOS. I used to use #Moshidon until they blocked access to some #Fediverse instances, including #NoAuthority.

Still looking for a suitable new phone from time to time. On the #LineageOS website there's a very helpful list of officially supported phones. But on the phone details list I see that some/many of them still only run a deprecated #Linux kernel...
Even the #Fairphone 4 is listed with a deprecated 4.19 kernel, while their websites is boasting about "software longevity" and "software support until at least 2026".
Is none of these manufacturers able to upstream their shit into the Linux kernel?

Mein altes Moto Z Play läuft seit etwa 2,5 Jahren problemlos mit #LineageOS – top!

LineageOS hat zwar auch ROMs für Moto Z3 Play.
Aber für das Modell meines Moto Z3 Play? Fehlanzeige.
Lange gewartet, gehofft, gesucht… leider blieb eine offizielle Lineage-Version aus.

You have probably seen this #viral #infographic on #eu #digitalsovereignty by #reddit user u/lukakopajtic. It was viral but not very accurate recommending #bluesky and #firefox as "EU alternatives"? How? Anyway, he just updated the infographic, and it's much, much better! Most issues have been corrected. I think there is still a couple of issues I disagree with: 1) recommending #matrix instead of #jabber #xmpp 2) recommending #lineageos instead of #grapheneos (but OK, I can understand this if the focus is on self-sovereignty only), 3) recommending #droidify instead of #accrescent (but, even here, I can understand if the goal is to replace #playstore ), and 4) recommending #thunderbird as a comparison to #gmail (nothing wrong with Thunderbird, but that's an email client, not a Gmail-like suite provider, I would have rather recommended #mailfence or #mailbox ). Kudos for the initiative though, the intentions are good!
