Former Democratic NY governor Andrew Cuomo is running to be the next Mayor of New York City. The primary is tomorrow.

Let’s be clear Cuomo is a dinosaur that offers nothing new to NYC residents. As a reminder, Cuomo resigned as governor in 2021 after the NY attorney general’s report concluded that he sexually harassed 11 women.

As a democrat, I recognize that the party needs new and vibrant leadership that will move this country forward, and not back to the failed status quo of yesterday.

Yes, I live in California and the mayor of NYC really doesn’t affect my daily life. But it does affect my political life as a Democrat. It affects the party brand that is much in need of change. If Cuomo advances this is an indicator that the Democratic leadership is offering nothing to entice voters other than the Democratic base to vote Blue.
