☝️Russia's sovereignty and jurisdiction over the Southern Kuril Islands are inviolable, the #Russian Foreign Ministry stated to the Japanese ambassador after being summoned. Any attempts by the Japanese side to directly or indirectly question the ownership of the Southern Kuril Islands are unacceptable and illegal. A strong protest was expressed to the Japanese ambassador regarding anti-Russian statements made by the country's leadership following President Putin's visit to Iturup Island.
