i just realised that inflation changes purchasing habits of the population on another level - younger people do not know how much things used to cost but the middle-aged and older people do. so they will no longer be willing to pay 10 money for XYZ since they know they paid 5 money for XYZ their whole life and that means that the XYZ loses entire generations of customers.
