As a native Portuguese speaker and fluent Spanish, I can confirm we have more words than basically any language and Spanish is truly very simple.
I'm surprised German has fewer words than English, I suppose they are not counting the combined words.
@Zeb Portuguese, for me, is the worst language, as i found over the years. not only it is a romantic language, so it is not phonetic, but it always sounds like people are ending mid word or mid sentence. the speech has no "melody" and sounds choppy. so my condolences :D ... i also dislike hungarian :) and i also found i prefer chinese over japanese. it is strange that languages have a "melody" and some sound better than others. but it is mostly influenced by your native language, obvsiously.
though i have very little trust in the correctness of then umbers. as grok once showed me 171,476 words for english and then 600k.
