This string of conflicts really got going when Ansarullah in Yemen shut down the Bab-el-Mandeb, effectively blocking the Suez canal. Then the US-Iran war led to Iran blocking the Strait of Hormuz. Now noise is starting at... the Strait of Gibraltar.
