I post food fairly often, and I'm always a bit surprised at the comments when people mention varuous sauces or condiments. Personally, I put nothing beyond salt and pepper on meat [not counting burgers] because I want to taste the flavor of the meat. If all you taste is sauce then use much cheaper cuts of meat.

No beans in chili and no sauce on steak.

@Diogenese_Shiplap What about butter on a steak with a rosemary sprig? If you haven't had that, you need to try it.

@RegalBeagle Yep, that is fine as it doesn't overwhelm the natural flavors, but adds to them.
