@RegalBeagle it's me and my friends' favorite. we were mad hyped for the sequel and I ended up seeing it a second time with my sister. enjoyed it but it is definitely lacking. the diversity and gay-coded characters certainaly didn't help. i might rewatch it, been on a bit of a pixar binge the last couple days.
they also announced a third one for like 2027 or so, and even though I'll definitely see it, i fear the diversity will be even worse. on the other hand, a lot can happen in 3 years. if that prophetic 4chan post is to be believed, the third movie could be more like the first one to drive home that the 90s/00s America is BACK BABY lol

@suquili I thought they were setting it up the the CEO guy was going to be Screenslaver, but instead of a shitty revenge plot, he set the events in motion to get supers unbanned and everyone wins: supers get to be super again and he made money helping them. The conflict would have been whether the ends justify the means as clearly creating the problems needed to justify unbanning supers is evil and how the characters deal with the moral dilemma. The new characters did suck, too.
@RegalBeagle that probably would've been better. it's been like 2 years since i rewatched it but i don't think i finished it. i think i WILL watch it now lol. but im not looking forward to the last half hour or so because i remember it just feeling like it derailed.
