I floated the idea to just insert an old picture(yes, actual screenshots of the scan) and save everyone the time and effort but that's apparently unethical. I don't really see the difference: either way, we're not actually scanning the changes and just inserting a pretty picture for someone who doesn't even know what the picture means. I guess over-complicating things handwaves away the whole ethical dilemma thing.
