Rejecting modern technology is a novelty take I am not interested in.

@judgedread At some point, we're all going to be like the Amish: carefully selecting the technology we allow into our lives after weighing the pros and cons. I've been doing that ever since 'smart' devices and IoT became a thing.

@RegalBeagle I may be more selective about technology than anyone who attacks me for being a technophile. No smartphone, no smart TV, no pay streaming, audio or video. I post from big computer only.

But giving up modern life is a pipe dream. No technology = no power.

The Amish are just being indulged by the nation state. They can be crushed at will. Indeed if the jews hadn't wanted Trump back globohomo was starting to crack down on their unpasteurized milk sales.

@judgedread I don't feel that I've missed out on anything not having any smart devices or not using ApplePay. Need to set up an airgapped AI eventually.

I think the Amish will outlast the feds at current rate. Feds had to back off because they got too many other plates spinning. They don't have the bandwidth to deal with the Amish. Feds don't even have the bandwidth to accomplish their other goals, like gun control, CBDC, and digital ID. Russia and BRICS+ are breaking them on the wheel.

@RegalBeagle If the feds fall warbands or some invading force will establish a new legal order. They will be less merciful on shirkers and weaklings than liberalism was.
