@sfm2046 The story of Hitler and his rise to power is just the age old story of demanding a simple explanation to a complex problem. It's the same idea ancient people had with Gods and pagan nature spiritis. You can see a pattern, but can't explain it, so you put a consciousness behind it.
This is the core problem with the present too. We're out of low hanging fruits to pick. Science is complicated and this include social sciences too.

@sfm2046 It's a great and painfully detailed book. Although I wouldn't be surprised, if many Hitler fans would vote it down, because it exposes him as fraud.
The sad reality of Hitler, is that he could've had been the Bill Clinton of Germany. Despite talking crap, he united Germany in hard times and had a reasonable plan to fix it... But then, he got greedy and fucked it all up. A 3 generation long slow rebuild would've worked and WW2 could've been avoided. He could've been remembered as a hero.

@sfm2046 The problem with this attitude is, that you're missing out on understanding Hitler as a person. Conspiracy theorists love the Fuhrer Hitler, but Hitler himself explained it in Mein Kampf, that it was just an act.
Hitler, the person would be more sympathetic to the average person, because it would show, that he was only human with flaws and talents.
I mean, I'm pretty sure you would disprove Hitler's vegetarianism and his social awkwardness. Not to mention his neurotic behaviour.
@SilentSeeker His what? .... That makes sense. The professional image versus the personal. I'm not sure what the vegetarianism and introversion have to do with anything. He was an art student, vegetarian, and socially awkward. He put on a mask to accomplish something.
@sfm2046 You didn't read Mein Kampf didn't you... not even a summary of it. Maybe you should consider spending that $35 just to get a clearer picture of his situation.
Hitler don't wanted to be the Fuhrer. He clearly stated in his book, that it need to be somebody else. He wanted the support role. He was a political propagandist and a great one. He practiced and perfected his craft to support this Fuhrer, who'll unite Germany. He only picked up the role, because the party asked him to do so.
