@Terry From what I seen avoiding the draft’s consequences are fines and imprisonment which don’t sound bad because most Americans can’t afford anything anyways so at least prison gives food, clothing, and shelter.
Door to door recruitment could easily end in shootings of families defending their autonomy.
The enforcement of the draft plus the pressure of the economy make good conditions for a civil war.
