- Summary: A Windows 11 security update (KB5068861) repeatedly failed on Jason Eckert’s Snapdragon Dev Kit, eventually bricking it. After the final rollback attempt, the machine booted to a temporary profile, then began random shutdowns; the UEFI boot menu later froze, blocking any recovery. Windows reinstallation appeared successful until the driver-loading stage, when the system again froze and died. Persistent power-off/reboot cycles now prevent any boot or menu access. Eckert suspects corrupted firmware or a TPM/Secure-Boot mismatch, but without Qualcomm support or recovery tools for the discontinued dev kit, the hardware is effectively scrap.
