I was cut in March, didn't get a job until September and then they had layoffs in November the day before Thanksgiving (I didn't get cut, but people who had been there years were gone) ... and they had just hired two new people the week before the layoffs.
@djsumdog Been looking for 11 months now after getting five certs. Had a single interview which went nowhere. I can't even get people to read my application e-mails.
@Forestofenchantment @djsumdog I know it's bad everywhere but it seems impossible in France - if moving is an option for you
Meanwhile i keep reading that everyone needs bus and truck drivers. I'm considering moving to Germany and drive there.

Conditions are not as bad as here and they pay a bit better. Plus, a buddy of mine is willing to take me in
I work logistics in the US (software for a trucking company) and freight is down with a lot of companies cutting drivers. Even support staff like dispatch, service reps and IT are getting scaled back. Some might be due to tariffs, but even domestic freight is getting hit hard.

https://www.freightwaves.com/ is the big news site for our industry. I hope the situation is better in Europe.

It isn't. In Europe the situation is a bit different. I work in IT and I've been talking to everyone and there is only two sectors growing: government jobs (for more regulation and retardation at the expense of the taxpayers) and Automation.
Every single open job is about automating everything they can to not have to deal with EU regulations and for not having the young working population to sustain themselves. The economy is terminal.
