wait... there are people who think Iran is winning this war?
fill up that gas tank and reflect, american boots on the ground would all but confirm it
if gas went to $20/gallon I wouldn't change my habits at all. and yes, I know I'm not most Americans.
it's a conundrum. I'm very much anti-war. I do believe in just war. I don't believe THIS is a just war. but I worry that Americans won't have the stomach for just war when it becomes necessarily. in part because they're being told to think we're "losing" if gas goes up 20 cents.
Losing? We lost decades ago. So should we tell people dying for this unjust war- hang in there buddy, your death is just in preparation for a just war?
that's not what I'm saying at all. I'm not being dismissive here, I'm willing to parse it if you're genuinely interested.
"but I worry that Americans won't have the stomach for just war"
That's moving the goalpists
not at all. I'm simply saying that Americans are largely pussies, vulnerable to the slightest inconvenience. if the time ever comes to make actual sacrifice for a real existential threat, I find the chances of that happening to be approximately 0.0%.
same shit with ICE - get the illegals out, but don't hurt anyone's feelings. they don't actually want these problems solved.
okay so allow me to expand that.
IMO, a significant enough number of Americans are pussies... not necessarily a majority, it doesn't have to be a majority when you have team-sport politics and pluralistic ignorance in play. and even without the media highlighting it, which you're correct to point out they do, I think enough ARE pussies to make a meaningful difference.

The only way to realistic do what you're saying is a tax revolution.
It's civil war time.
We know that's the only wait out of this. Civil war is inevitable, the question is when it will pop off.
