There has literally NEVER been based Catholicism.
Even the Reconquista the Preists were hectoring and berating the Germanic Warlords to surrender and live in peace with the Muslims.
Only a Christian who has never read the bible like Pelayo and assumes it repeats traditional Gothic-Germanic values can be based.
