Not really. Tour guides, local chaperones, drivers and all travel services, you still need competent people to do. It does cut the useless travel agents who all they did was put a package together from a list and charge you for it.
But you lose liability insurance: if ChatGPT gives you wrong information or messes up, there's no insurance or any litigation you can follow up since AI can't provide you with a legally covered service.
The break-down ChatGPT did for an 8-day visit to the Faro Islands was excellent. It's just a suggested itinerary. I'm not paying for it... and it's nothing different than the old school days of using a travel book... they also often gave wrong or outdated info, and you couldn't litigate against them either.
@Zeb
When I actually get to a place... tour guides, chaperones, drivers... I usually don't go that route, unless it's a day tour worth it due to high cost of getting around or streamlining the time.
As for ChatGPT giving wrong information, that's no different than if I look up a website and try to get information. There's no insurance or any litigation you can follow up with via a website either.
