Good point. Why isn't it profitable to produce everything in the US where there's no around the globe freight, no import/export fees and no need to build and manage a global supply chain?

If that's the case, why waste so much money securing global trade for the benefit of everybody else, since you don't need it?
If there were capitalism, it would be more profitable to let global trade go fuck itself and focus on developing and consuming your own resources plus selling the surplus for massive prices.
