Short, excellent introduction to materialism. Starting with its ancient roots in india and freece, 2500 years ago, traving its development until todays physicalism.

4 out of 5, and shows beautifully how religion is not the answer to the question of what exists, but science.

2. How to Live a Good Life: A Guide to Choosing Your Personal Philosophy by Massimo Pigliucci , Skye Cleary

Collection of essays about the philosophy of life that various academics choose for themselves and why. Covers aristotle, stoics, epicureans, various religions, and modern isms such as existentialism and pragmaticism.

2 ouf of 5. The essays are too short and lacking philosophical rigor and argumentation.

The book comes across as a collection of commercials, and lots of wokeness from about 70% of the essayists.
