@jeffcliff Eugenics is a fascinating double think in the western world. It's a big "no no" to talk about it, yet we do test fetuses for various condtions, and we do offer abortions if those are too serious.

We also enhance ourselves with training, diet, machines, and there is a possibility to buy gene therapy from minicircle.io (and probably many others).

So the urge is there, a certain kind of practive is implemented. But mention it outright, and you will be shushed!

Society either practices eugenics or dysgenics, there is no middle path.
@EvilSandmich @h4890 i'm not so sure that there isn't a middle path. A hyperstable edgecase may be possible -- has anyone even looked for one?

@jeffcliff @EvilSandmich I'd be interested in how we actually choose a mate. I mean, does anyone believe that we subconsciously try to choose the worst one? Or do we subconsciously try to choose a good mate?

Beautiful wives have been appreciated and sought after for milennia.

Conscious eugenics, or just nature?

@EvilSandmich @h4890 @jeffcliff

I don't think you're right unless you count natural selection as eugenics
