@elston_ It's politics and modern democracy. The system is designed to push the worst to the top. A competent man on the top wold never work in democracy, since the common man would despise him, and the leader would despise the common man.
However! The incompetent man (the politician) will appeal more broadly, and more importantly, will have the least resistance, so easily floats to the top.
