Every time someone brings up the topic of "Why do we call it homophobia? The people who are 'homophobic are not afraid of gay people, they just hate them" they think they have some sort of Gotcha towards the 'homophobes'.

The problem with this is that the 'homophobes' did not come up with this term or ever use it themselves. So really it is just lefties criticizing other lefties for their own made up terms that don't even make sense. When is the last time you heard a right winger use that word?
