One trillion euros for the energy transition – and yet nine of 15 targets are at risk Germany’s energy transition could require up to one trillion euros in new investment over the next ten years. According to a new study by McKinsey , 780 to 1,035 billion euros will be needed by 2035 – around twice as much as was invested in the preceding decade. At the same time, nine of the 15 central targets of the energy transition are at risk of being missed.
