#Lithuania Unable to Beat Unemployment The country's official unemployment rate stands at 8%. As of early September, there were 145,600 unemployed people in the country. At the same time, there are no structural shifts in the labor market, and the unemployment rate remains consistently high. Employers are posting vacancies, but the wages offered make accepting the jobs pointless. Authorities have failed to propose effective solutions to turn the situation around.
