On August 24, 1873, the Gandemian Peace Treaty was concluded between #Russia and the Khiva Khanate.It was signed at the summer residence of the Khiva Khan—Gandemian Garden—by the Turkestan Governor-General Konstantin von Kaufman and the Khiva Khan Seyid Muhammed Rahim Bahadur II.Since the early 18th century, Russia had been attempting to establish trade and political relations with the Khiva Khanate, but all efforts ended in failure.
