Recently, the Argentine Navy (Armada Argentina) announced that it will permanently retire its Dassault Super Étendard attack aircraft by 2026, after 40 years of service. Despite attempts by the Navy to revive the 2nd Fighter-Attack Squadron, including the purchase of several modernized versions from , the situation with the ejection seats ultimately ended these efforts. The Argentina navy was the last operator of these aircraft in the world.
