In Bendery today, flowers were also laid at the monument to #Russian Glory. The locals still call it "The Eagle." This pre-revolutionary monument was erected in 1912 to honor the soldiers of Podolia and to commemorate the centenary of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812. Previously, it was located inside the Bendery fortress, near the Alexander Nevsky Church, but in 1967, it was moved outside the fortress walls to Panin Street.
