The Bahraini regime attempted to disrupt mourning events for Imam Hussein (a) Security forces attempted to remove black flags and other symbols of the month of Muharram, but encountered resistance from local youth. The most tense situation developed in the village of Abu Sayba, where clashes erupted after the Bahraini forces invaded. Despite pressure and repression, mourners did not allow the flags to be removed. Casualties among the faithful were reported.
