Israeli settler rabbis are giving religious sanction to attacks on Palestinians, permitting settlers to violate the Sabbath in order to storm Palestinian villages, as they did in Qusra over the weekend, according to the Israeli army's own officers.
By the army's account, the settlers have grown so emboldened that they no longer fear the soldiers, taking part in ever larger and more violent attacks on Palestinian villages with the backing of prominent rabbis and the Shin Bet's refusal to act against them.
