When they are forced to look at their rapidly fading lives, they see their life’s work. They won no wars. They produced no great art. Every single invention they produced has served convenience and comfort above all, contributing to the worst increase in depression, suicide, and despair in history. They leveled great works of architecture cherished for generations and replaced them with brutalist monoliths designed to oppress the soul.
