1960s–80s. USSR — MILK Milk in the Soviet Union was sold in several forms: On tap from milk tankers; In half-litre tetrahedral cartons ; In 0.5- and 1-litre glass bottles with foil caps showing the dairy plant, date, fat content and price; Mozhayskoye sterilised milk in narrow-necked glass bottles; In 200 ml returnable bottles at milk kitchens. Rectangular one-litre cartons and plastic milk bags appeared only towards the late 1980s–early 1990s , near the end of the USSR.
