'Huge underground structures found beneath Giza pyramids spark conspiracy theories about ancient power grid': Archaeologists have discovered mysterious underground structures 600 metres below the pyramids.

"Italian archaeologists who discovered a complex of structures under the Giza pyramids have challenged their colleagues' belief that the pyramids were merely burial sites for royal tombs.

Thanks to a special radar, scientists from the University of Pisa and the University of Strathclyde have illuminated the earth's crust beneath the famous pyramids and discovered that three of them contain a huge complex of structures of unknown purpose. It includes eight vertical cylindrical wells 648 m deep, which connect two huge "cubic chambers".

The mysterious discovery adds fuel to decades of theories that the pyramids could be more than what they seem.
