i think left-ism vs right-ism boils down to how independent and self-reliant one HAD to be during one's childhood. person that was taken care of never had to struggle and develop a personality of their own. on the other hand, person that had to, saw the world in a very different light and formed a very different set of values and understanding of how things work and consequences of one's actions. i think there is no more to it than this. one could say that childhood trauma built stronger people
