i just paid 6.29€for 500g of ground beef. before covid, it was maybe 3.99€, after covid it was 4.49€, two years ago(2023?) it was 4.99€, last/this year it was 5.49€. today 6.29€, almost over night increase. kinder maxi king went from 55c pre-covid to 1.29€ today. i have no idea how are people not rioting in the streets. these prices are INSANE. i have never seen such increases and everything being so incredibly expensive. saw a new 1b apartment going for price that takes over 40y to pay off.

cheese burger at mcdonalds gives you most protein for least amount of money in their beef section. in case you were curious. they are nutritionally the most underpriced item in their list. though the edge over standard hamburger is merely by the fat cheese. so if you want less fat and can sacrifice 2g of milk protein, hamburger is second best.
