The world record for the farthest flight by a paper airplane is 289 feet, 9 inches (88.31 meters), set by three Boeing engineers on December 2, 2022:
Dillon Ruble: Systems engineer
Garrett Jensen: Strength engineer
Nathaniel Erickson: Aerospace engineer
The engineers, who named their plane "Mach 5", spent nearly 500 hours studying origami and aerodynamics, and testing multiple prototypes. Their design focused on speed and minimizing drag.
Bear in mind that the following year all three were replaced by thousand pound sheboons. The record-holders are now homeless and living in the desert somewhere.
