Twitter is dying and people are flocking to bluesky in like a mllion a day on many days. the fediverse is losing active users. we lost that fight, very very badly.

EDIT: "that fight" because it's different than "our goals". I like Fedi small and weird and the people that are leaving Fedi for Bluesky (or going directly to bluesky from Twitter, skipping over us) are the very worst people here who were the ones who loudly and ignorantly demanded moderation regimes that aren't desired or even possible here, and any attempt to explain this resulted in "tweetstorms" explaining that it's not their job to listen to why its not possible, its our job to fix the network. No actually, get the fuck out. And now they are getting the fuck out, and good riddance.

this post was originally a mild subtoot about desire to avoid creating a new normie hugbox anywhere on the Internet, which Bluesky is definitely shaping up to be. I was just saying "that fight is already over"
