The newest trend on LinkedIn: Some random thought leader posts their latest opinion on how AI is going to revolutionise field XY or Z, and the last sentence is something like: 'Comment with the word "banana" if you want to receive my private guide on how to become the next AI emperor via DM.'
I've seen far too many people I used to respect reply to that.
Is there something in the water making society dumber by the minute?

@bastianallgeier Fluoride, mostly. That and FOMO of missing the next Bitcoin. The system is broken and everyone is trying to get rich quick rather than work for anything.
