I'm basically fatphobic and it is here to stay. I will never celebrate body positivity and being plus sized. Whatever you want to call that whole movement. Just ain't me. I don't worship the fat and I don't need to see it.

@sim Disgust is a natural instinct no?

@TenaciousGoat Yeah, I mean if you see what fat actually looks like then it is disgusting. I don't see what is attractive about it.

@sim It’s gaslighting, I think that’s the point. Women know fat isn’t attractive, it puts off potential mates. What’s easier though; Losing weight and being accountable or convincing your partner that he should love you at any size?

@TenaciousGoat I think the worst part about it is trying to convince society at large that it is attractive. It's one thing to accept your body size is what it is, to have your partner accept it or even love it... and quite another to make it into an industry beauty standard. Convincing women that men want them to be plus sized, to ruin their body to achieve this unhealthy, unsustainable and destructive standard. It just creates another standard that isn't realistic so they are doing the opposite to what they would claim celebrating this does.

@sim Attractive woman cause a lot of envy in unattractive women although it’s from her own perspective. I think being envious of another’s beauty should push the person to do better themselves, but instead we take a destructive approach and shame beauty because “I” can’t have it.

@TenaciousGoat When you think about it, we set up our own standards and buy into them. We are our own judges of this.

It is sad when people let their own envy and shame rule them and how they perceive beauty standards. Shame is only useful if it motivates you to start moving, to achieve your goal. Otherwise you are better off dropping it because it is a terrible motivator for you. I think more people need to hear that. To find what motivates them to reach their own beauty goals for themselves rather than staying in a pool of misery they have created for themselves. I personally like seeing attractive people, they are eye candy for the soul.
