Somewhere some poor saps are painting thousands of lead bars with gold paint

@jb 😂 I think lead is denser than gold, should be easy to tell the difference if the metal is tested.

obviously it’s only for the cameras
@TenaciousGoat @jb Gold is denser; it's easy to test, but if they're painting.... or if they covered their asses and electroplated lead bars years ago with gold...

Hellz Bellz, they uncovered a problem decades ago where (China?) found gold plating on tungsten-carbide which provided the same weight and density; they had to cut the bar in half to find out (cutting tungsten carbide in half is hard).
@NoDoxGregBrady @TenaciousGoat @jb Yeah they would immediately know it wasnt gold once they started cutting into that
Cutting titanium is kinda hard too 😏 when I was involved in aerospace manufacturing, sometimes I'd have to cut titanium with a chop saw. Was mostly aluminum usually which is like a hot knife through butter, but titanium I had to take my time. I don't know why they consider it a light metal because it still feels like it's got a high center of gravity
